Paper Title
Functionality of Natural Dyed Silk with Phellodendron Amurense and Dactylopius Coccus

Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the dyeing properties, UV protection, deodorization and antimicrobial activity of the silk dyed with Phellodendron amurense and Dactylopius coccus for red color, one of Obangsaek (five cardinal colors-red, blue, yellow, black, and white) which is traditional Korean color. The silk dyed with Phellodendron amurense and Dactylopius coccus showed a distinct absorption peak at 525nm. And the color strength (K/S) calculated by the surface reflectance value at the maximum absorption wavelength 4.37. The CIELAB measurements of the silk dyed with Phellodendron amurense and Dactylopius coccus showed 47.20 for L*, 31.74 for a*, and 14.53 for b*, while the Munsell measurements exhibited 4.3R in color, 4.6 of brightness, and 7.4 of chroma. The SPF value of the silk dyed with Phellodendron amurense and Dactylopius coccus appeared insufficient protection as 7.6. The deodorization rate of the fabric dyed with Phellodendron amurense and Dactylopius coccus appeared 79.4%. Keywords - Natural Dyeing;Phellodendron Amurense; Dactylopius Coccus; Obangsaek
