The Relationships Among Children’s Attachment Security, Ego Strength, Fear Of Negative Evaluation, And School Adjustment: Focusing On The Gender Differences Of Latent Means And Path

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the gender differences in children’s attachment security, ego strength, fear of negative evaluation and adjustment to school, and to confirm the structural model using these variables. Data of 487 1st and 2nd graders (251 boys, 236 girls) of elementary schools in South Korea were collected through the report of their mothers. The results showed that there were gender differences in ego strength, fear of negative evaluation, school adjustment, and models including these variables. Finally, the implications of the research results are suggested. Index Terms - Attachment security, Ego strength, Fear of negative evaluation, School adjustment
