Paper Title
Preliminary Study on Kenaf Grafted Epoxidized Natural Rubber Composite

Abstract
The aim of this study was to graft kenaf fiber onto epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) latex. Potassium persulphate (KPS) was used as an initiator for the grafting process. The zeta potential of the samples of the latex was measured to determine the stability of the latex. It was found that kenaf and potassium persulphate mixtures remained stable for 1 and 2 hours due to stabilizer used. The stability of ENR latex as a function of KPS concentration was further confirmed with zeta potential experiments. The presence of the functional group in the grafted polymers was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy.
