Influence of the Socio-Economic and Environmental Background of Parents on their Children’s Private Tuitiions: A Critical Review

Abstract
This theoretical paper studies the influence of parents’ socio-economic status and environmental background on their children private tuition education in Mauritius. The discussion in the paper is based on the theoretical framework of Bronfenbrenner`s ecological system theory and the theory of human motivation (Abraham Maslow; 1943) theory. These theories are appropriate for the study because they allow the reader to understand how children’s private tuition education is significantly affected by the socio-economic statusand environment factors in the Mauritian case.
