The Impacts of Individual And Family Characteristics on Work-Family Facilitation

Abstract
Work-family facilitationis a construct that work and family can benefit with one another rather than just conflict which work-family research frequently focuses on. Work and family roles can have a meaningful and positive impact on individuals� well-beingsince both roles are central components of life. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of individual (i.e., gender, age) and family characteristics (i.e. number of children, sharing household chores) on wok-family facilitation. The data of the study were collected from 518 university employees in Ankara using simple random sampling method. The findings highlight the importance of work-family facilitationas a proxy for creating a balance between work and family. Implications future research directions are discussed.
