Paper Title
Conceptual Framework For Designing Sustainable Buildings: Environmental Assessment of Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Abstract
Buildings and the environment are inextricably linked. Water, land, energy and materials are all consumed in the construction and operation of a building. The built structure in turns becomes part of the physical environment, affecting the living conditions, social wellbeing and economic profile. This paper aims to propose a conceptual framework to evaluate the environmental impacts of sustainable buildings design and then measuring the sustainability of Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria. Egypt can benefit from this framework to develop its buildings in order to achieve the sustainability targets.
