Bixin Adsorption Characteristic On Tio2

Abstract
The adsorption of bixin in dimethyl carbonate on TiO2 anatase and P25 surface was investigated. The effects of contact time and dye concentration on adsorption capacity and kinetics were studied experimentally. Bixin adsorption on anatase-TiO2 followed the Langmuir model (qm = 13.0 mg.g-1, r2 = 0.98), while for bixin adsorption on P25-TiO2 was favourable with the Freundlich model (Kf = 37.9 mg0.13L0.87g-1, r2 = 0.92). For both adsorbents, dye adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetics, where k2 of TiO2 P25 was ten times higher than k2 of TiO2 anatase. Key words- anatase, adsorption, bixin, Langmuir
