Loving God for Life: The Five Principles to Cultivate the Children’s Faith

Abstract
The greatest commandment for all Christians is to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. It is God’s will that every Christian should love God every day, especially amid the industrial revolution 4.0 where younger generations prefer to enjoy life and pursue personal satisfaction. To cultivate the children’s willingness to love God throughout their lives, Christian parents need to apply Biblical principles in Christian education. These principles are conveyed in the Old Testament which can be seen through the lives of three Bible heroes: Samuel, Moses, and Josiah who loved God all their lives and became a blessing to their people. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis research method based on a literature study that examines the process of developing faith in children’s education. These teaching principles were applied by Samuel, Moses, and Josiah’s parents during their upbringing. By doing so, Samuel, Moses, and Josiah grew up as Bible heroes who had faith in God as it is written in the Old Testament. This study proves that Biblical principles that are applied in Christian education can help Christian parents educate their children in the industrial revolution era. As a result, Christian parents can raise their children to love God throughout their lives.
