Types Of Theatrical Production In The Athens-Epidaurus Festival

Abstract
Theatrical production is a main segment at the Athens-Epidaurus Festival that was holding at the Athens and Epidaurus, Greek since 1954. Normally, the festival attracted more than 100,000 visitors for every season. One of the important segments was a production at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus with audience capacity around 10,000 for every performance. Espuna's Eight Traits of Theatre and Tourism listing that type of plays as a one of traits that attracted audience and tourist to a theatrical festival. This study discusses the types, and the background of the plays were staging at the festival. Data was gathered through a document analysis and interview. Finding shown the festival consistently performed a Greek classical play of tragedy and comedy for every season. But there are also a modern and postmodern plays to give visitor a wider selection.
