Graduate Labour Immobility Factors: A Scoping Review

Abstract
Graduate Labour immobility remains a critical research agenda for practitioners’ and researchers’.A limited amount of study exists regarding Labour immobility that focuses on graduates and their employability. Consequently, many studies have been conducted on the mobility of graduate students, but a limited number of studies focus on labour immobility of graduates. This study provides a scientific overview of factors that lead to graduate immobility by scoping a review of the availableliterature. Asynthesis of these literature studies will provide new views regarding the immobility of graduate students. In this study 112, peer-reviewed articles form part of the scoping review. Content analysis was utilised in this scoping review.Factors that lead to graduate labour immobility that leads to their unemployability were identified and the main categories of graduate employability immobility factors were identified from a macro-context, meso-context and micro-context.These findings identified further studies and provided additional scientific information into the complexity of graduate immobility and could guide future developmental intervention. A scientificallyfoundedcontribution towards graduates’ immobility from literature was identified and the factors/perception graduates have regarding immobility was identified.
