Complementary Feeding Practices for Children Aged 6-23 Months: A Review of the Literature on Efforts to Improve Complementary Feeding Practices

Abstract
The practice of appropriate complementary feeding, accompanied by parental behavior in ensuring that food intake is well received by children, has a positive effect on children's growth and development. Children who are given enough food, the right texture, and at the right time are better prepared to grow and develop, even more, prepared when facing illness, disaster, or critical illness, and avoid stunting. Sources of information in this review are taken from online journal databases that provide free articles in Scopus-indexed pdf format, such as Google scholar, Science direct, Proquest, Researchgate, and Pubmed. The initial search results found as many as 36,510 works of literature, and after going through the screening process, the remaining 20 pieces of literature were then reviewed. The result is that mentoring interventions can have a good impact on the process of providing complementary feeding for children aged 6-23 months. The mentoring process can increase mothers' knowledge and practice of providing complementary feeding, with assistance, mothers can develop homemade recipes for main meals and snacks with nutritional compositions according to the nutritional needs of children.
