TELEWORK IN THE CONTEXT OF A COVID-19 PANDEMIC: IMPLICATIONS FOR THE QUALITY OF LIFE

Abstract
Telework in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 corona virus pandemic, responsible for the Covid-19 disease, proved to be a very significant determinant of people's quality of life. Objective: To assess the quality of life associated with teleworking in the context of a Covid-19 pandemic. Observational study with 95 administrative workers in telework in the context of the covid-19 pandemic, aged between 41 and 50 years (40%), 70.5% of whom were women. The Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ) II – Short Version (Kristensen, 2001; translation and adaptation by Silva et al, 2011) and the WHOQOL-BREF (1998), adapted by Canavarro, Simões, Vaz Serra, Pereira, Rijo, Quartilho et al, (2007). Men were found to have higher scores in most quality-of-life domains. Overall, most of the risk factors associated with teleworking have a very significant impact on the quality of life of teleworkers. The quality of life associated with teleworking was profoundly affected during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is necessary to monitor it in order to promote healthy work environments and protect the well-being of workers.
