An overview on Technology Acceptance Theories Used on m-Gov and e-Gov Adoption Research

Abstract
Adoption of digital government services is relatively new and growing field around the globe. It has begun to gain research interest in the last few decades. The present paper reviews the m-Gov and e-Gov acceptance systematically to address existing and forthcoming directions of research. This article discusses the systematic analysis of methodologies, approaches, and theories or models have been used. The findings show many developing countries are not taking digital government services adoption seriously, also, TAM found to be the most used and reliable technology acceptance model, followed by DOI, Trust and UTAUT. The results of this article will support the limited literature available on e-Gov and m-Gov adoption by providing holistic view and insights into end-users’ adoption factors, and reveal whatmost theories and models have been used. After reviewing the findings, further attention is given to the role of stakeholders and citizens in the adoption of smart government, and this is believed to be an important outline in new research in this field.
