Mental Health Factor Analysis and Suggestions of Western College Students Under the Effect of High Speed Railway – A Case Study Taking Wuzhou Colleges as Example

Abstract
Since the opening of the high-speed railway, it has greatly accelerated the urbanization process of various cities in the west, strengthened the transportation communication channels with other provinces, and accelerated the mobility of talents. At the same time, due to the increasing convenience of transportation, students also have more opportunities to choose schools, and the proportion of outside-province students enrolled in colleges in the western region has increased in recent years. This study focuses on the number change of students enrolled in colleges in the western autonomous areas of ethnic minorities. Taking the colleges in Wuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as an example, comparing the similarities and differences between inside-province students (IPS) and outside-province students (OPS), a large sample survey was conducted by using SCL-90 self-evaluation scale and positive psychological capital scale (PPQ). The number of respondents was 30684 and 30080 valid samples were recovered. The difference analysis and multiple regression analysis (N =30080) were carried out on the factors of positive mental capital and mental health level of college students. The results showed: 1. Positive psychological capital and mental health of college students in the region are significantly correlated (p<0.001), positive psychological capital can effectively predict the level of mental health. 2. Taking the enrollment area as the scope, the students are divided into two dimensions: IPS & OPS. There were some different factors both in positive mental capital and mental health levels. 3. Combined the difference analysis with the correlation analysis, it is found that the different factors of positive psychological capital (positive psychological capital, self-efficacy, optimism) between IPS and OPS have significant influence on the mental health level (somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, paranoia, other), which show advantage influences. In the same time, 4 difference factors (interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety, hostility, paranoia) are consistent with the different factors of mental health level between IPS and OPS. On the research results, it is suggested to make effective use of the advantages of high-speed railway network by facilitate transportation, to provide support in the formulation and implementation of enrollment policies, in order to increase the enrollment of students outside Guangxi province, which is conducive to the improvement of the mental health level of college students in this region. The research provides reference data for the study of positive psychological capital and mental health status of college students in the western region under the effect of high-speed railway, provides reference for development of mental health education level of college students in the western region.
