Effect of Copper (Cu) DopantonMorphological, Structural and Optical Properties of TiO2:ZnO Nanorods

Abstract
Copper(Cu)-doped Zinc oxide (ZnO) on Titanium dioxide (TiO2) seed layer thin filmswere fabricated on the glass substrate by using spin coating technique for deposition of TiO2 seed layer and solution immersion method for the growth of Cu-doped ZnO. This work mainly focused on the fabrication of different atomic percentageof Cu dopantwhere the atomic percentagewas variedfrom 0.0 to 2.0 at.%in interval of 0.5. To obtain desirable propertyof TiO2:Cu-doped ZnOnanorod, the correlation between atomic percentage and characteristics of thin film (morphology, structural and optical) were investigated by using FESEM, XRD and UV-Vis. The FESEM images for all films show the morphology as nanorod and all doped films produced the smaller nanorod diameter compared to non-doped film. UV-Vis results of Cu-doped films at1.0 at.%revealed as the highest absorbance. Highest intensity of 1.0 at.%film also obtained from XRD result which showed that 1.0 at.% of Cu dopantindicates asthe best thin film toformanexcellent optical property compared to other films.
