Paper Title
Environmentally Friendly Process of De-Oiling and Reactivation of Oil Refinery Spent Clay

Abstract
Friendly environmental techniques of De-oiling and reactivation process of spent clay (SC) was investigated. This technique includes: a) de-oiling the entrained lube oil using solvent extraction process with different solvents and additives, b) solvent recovery process, c) re-activation process wherein the oil-free spent clay is treated with acid, d) thermal polishing step at high temperature to increase the activity, e) application of regenerated clay in one step reclamation process of waste lubricating oil, and f) comparison of the regenerated clay with virgin clay. Different physical properties of reclaimed lubricating oil were performed. It was realized that the reactivation process of de-oiling clay by acid treatment followed by thermal treatment at 500 oC for 4 hrs had the best performance. The work was carefully applied to be environmentally friendly because of the reusability of solvent, clay, and waste lube oil.
