The Correlation between EFL College Students’ Learning Styles and their Academic Performance

Abstract
Students usually differ in their ways of learning where they like specific aspects more than others. The present study sheds light on the importance of learning styles in education. It aims at investigating the correlation between learning styles of EFL college students and their academic performance. The sample of the study consists of thirty student-teachers from English department/ college of education for human science/ university of Diyala. The instrument of the study is a learning style questionnaire that is adapted from O Brien (1985). The results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between students’ learning styles and their academic performance. Based on the results gained, specific recommendations are put forwards. Keywords - Learning Styles, Academic Performance, EFL
