Paper Title
Production of Offset Printing Inks from Used Palm Oil Base

Abstract
At present, printing inks produced from petroleum are still problems both people’s health working on printing industry and the environment. Therefore, the researcher has the idea to produce inks with ingredients from used palm oil to be useful. The objectives of this research are: (1) To produce offset inks from used palm oil base. (2) To test the characteristics of offset inks from used palm oil base. And, (3) To test the quality of the printings printed from offset printing inks from used palm oil base. The research found that: (1). There are 4 colors of offset printing inks from used palm oil base.which are cyan, magenta, yellow, and black that mixed with varnish using 65% of used palm oil which is the appropriate proportion for making varnish for mixing in the inks. (2). Offset printing inks from used palm oil base – cyan, magenta, yellow, and black – have ∆E value and their properties when compared to commercial printing inks and are slightly different. (3). The test of printing quality when measuring dot gain showed that yellow has the highest dot gain. When measuring density, it is found that the black color has the highest density.
