Politeness Inferences in Jesus’ Discourse With His Lord

Abstract
The current research presents the manifestations of politeness phenomena in a ‘talk-in-interaction’ between Prophet Iesa the son of Mary (Jesus) and his All-Mighty Lord. The study embraces Leech’s (1983) ‘politeness principle’ model; moreover, inferring what speakers mean from what they say which is essential in highlighting politeness phenomena as crucial basis for interaction. Consequently, findings affirm the fact that Jesus has manipulated the best linguistic utterances that have marked his politeness with his Lord.
