Paper Title
Consciousness-Raising Tasks for Developing Collocational Knowledge

This study is a replication of an earlier investigation conducted by Jiang (2009) in China. Consciousness-raising (CR) tasks were used within Japanese university classrooms for collocations. After 12 weeks of instruction, the students’ perceptions about the CR tasks were elicited through the use of open-ended questions on a questionnaire. The students indicated that these tasks were effective for improving their collocational knowledge. Furthermore, the tasks would also positively influence how they approached future vocabulary study in the students’ opinion.
