Paper Title
Consciousness-Raising Tasks for Developing Collocational Knowledge

Abstract
This study is a replication of an earlier investigation conducted by Jiang (2009) in China. Consciousness-raising (CR) tasks were used within Japanese university classrooms for collocations. After 12 weeks of instruction, the students’ perceptions about the CR tasks were elicited through the use of open-ended questions on a questionnaire. The students indicated that these tasks were effective for improving their collocational knowledge. Furthermore, the tasks would also positively influence how they approached future vocabulary study in the students’ opinion. Keywords - Collocations, Consciousness-raising tasks, Vocabulary depth, Vocabulary acquisitions, collocation dictionaries.
