Microfacies Analysis and Depositional Setting of Middle Permian Limestone (Tak Fa Formation) in Southern Part of Phetchabun, Central Thailand

Abstract
Microfacies Analysis study has been used for explanation and analyze on the paleoenvironment. of Indochina Block related shallow marine successions exposed in southern part of Phetchabun. From petrographic study of the thin-sectioned five limestone samples collected from this area, at least five genera of fusulinids were observed, comprising of Nankinella, Sphaerulina, Parafusulina, Pseudodoliolina, and Misellina. The fusuline assemblage indicates the age of Middle Permian. Two microfacies, packstone-grainstone and wackstone-packstone were identified. Microfacies and the fossil assemblage can be interpreted the depositional environment of platform margin, winnowed shoal and restricted interior platform.
