Application Of Grey Relational Analysis To Assess The Effect Of Climatic Factors And Air Pollution On Cabbage Production In Taiwan

Abstract
Cabbage is a major vegetable crop in Taiwan. To stabilize the supply and price of cabbage, it is important to schedule, monitor, and forecast cabbage production. This study, therefore, applied the Grey Relational Analysis to assess the effect of market factors, climatic factors and air pollution on cabbage production. The monthly data in 2012-2014 were used in the model. The results showed the top contributors were harvested area, relative humidity, PM10, PM2.5, and precipitation days. These findings may help improve forecast accuracy and accelerate alarm and response systems in the future. Index Terms- Air Pollution, Cabbage Production, Climatic Factors, Grey Relational Analysis.
