Syrian Refugees In Turkey And Burden Sharing Principle

Abstract
The war in Syria hasn’t been ended for 8 years and it shows no signs to settlement in the near future yet. The people escaping from the war have been flowing outside their country. 3.6 million of them have already settled in Turkey since the beginning. Now, Turkey hosts the biggest number of refugees in worldwide. Global Refugee Compact highlights the burden sharing responsibility for all refugees in the world. From this perspective, Turkey takes the lead sharing the physical burden of the problem and wait the other stakeholders to act more responsibly. In this context there are some suggestions in the name of burden sharing principle. Preferential Trade Agreements that cover products produced by a threshold Syrian refugee labor is one of them. This paper aims to understand this suggestion and analyze its practicability looking at the similar agreements in the recent past. Keywords: Syrian Refugees, Turkey, Burden Sharing
