Impact Of Biometrics System On The Behavior Of Employees Of State Universities In The Philippines

Abstract
Absence without leave, tardiness, time theft, these are the few perineal problems being encountered mostly by managers and business owners from their employees. Fortunately, it can be avoided by implementing strict measures in monitoring the attendance of employees. Biometric technology as a means of identifying and verifying an individual’s characteristic is widely used in many organizations these days. In this regard, academic institutions also use this technology to provide a more comprehensive system in monitoring employee attendance and how it may affect the organizational behavior. The study aimed to assess the impact of the use of biometric system on the behavior of employees of state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines. Specifically, it evaluated employees’ attendance, quality of work, quantity of work, and timeliness of work. Data were gathered through interviews and survey questionnaires and further analyzed using composite mean, ANOVA and t-test. Results show that the use of the biometric system has a positive impact on the behavior of the employees.
