Self-Efficacy In Learning English Among Form Four Students In Malaysia

Abstract
Self-efficacy is one of the factors that will influence oneís performance and achievement, especially in the academic setting. In language learning, a personís self-efficacy will determine his or her motivation and attitude towards the language. That is to say, a student with high self-efficacy will perceive a language task as a challenge that will enhance his or her skill and ability. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify studentsí level of self-efficacy in learning English based ethnicity. The findings showed that studentsí level of self-efficacy in learning English was moderated and there were significant differences in terms of studentsí self-efficacy with regards to ethnicity.
