Paper Title
Study On Barriers, Measures And Risks To Promote Small-Scale Renewablesin Kazakhstan

Abstract
Kazakhstan is expected to be the biggest renewable energy player in Central Asia and continue to develop policy, the 2030 and 2050 targets for renewable energy in the most cost-efficient way. The focus is analysis of risk categories and underlying barriers for small-scale RES projects and assessment of measures aimed to overcome identified barriers and risks. The so called” small-scale RES technologies” may include solar PV (roof-top), solar water heating, small-scale wind and biogas. Off-grid, rural solutions will be particularly applicable in South zone of Kazakhstan. The results of analysis will provide policy makers in Kazakhstan with the direction needed to develop De-risking strategy for small-scale RES.
