Paper Title
Formal Concepts Extraction of Qur’an Translated Text using Hybrid Technique

Abstract
A hybrid technique to extract concepts from Al-Qur’an texts was proposed in this paper. The technique involves the deployment of linguistic and statistical approaches to extract key phrases from Al-Qur’an texts regarding Hajj and Umrah (pilgrimage). The next step was to use the key phrases as input to concepts extraction using the theory of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA). The use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) pattern extraction in the extraction of key phrases is crucial since many key phrases from Al Qur’an texts could not be extracted using common English Natural language Processing (NLP) technique. In this paper, NLP pattern extraction and TF-IDF technique were used to extract the key phrases that were eventually used as input to FCA to extract the formal concepts. Concepts extraction is imperative since the concepts could further be used in many applications especially in information retrieval. Results obtained based on the experiments that have been conducted indicate that the proposed approach is significant in identifying relevant concepts in Qur’anic domain.
